Michael Zimmerman

Michael Zimmerman has over 15 years of experience in Operations management and
logistics. After a BA from Amherst college in 1988, Michael worked for three
years at US Surgical Corporation (now a division of Tyco) where he designed and
implemented IT applications in manufacturing. An MBA from Darden (University of
Virginia) then led to seven years of supply chain roles at Carrier (a division
of United Technologies) including manufacturing outsourcing in the USA,
logistics management in Mexico and Argentina, forecast implementation in Europe,
lean production in Italy and acquisitions integration for logistics in Sweden.
Michael left UTC in 2001 to join Freemarkets where he worked with Fortune 500
companies to help them design and execute large strategic sourcing projects.
Michael left Freemarkets in 2004 to co-found Atlas Supply Chain Ltd. (http://www.atlas-supply-chain.com)
where he has been working with global companies in their efforts to improve
performance and lower costs in their supply chains
